Join the American Marketing Team Come
Come, run with us!
Make no mistake...American Marketing is not a multi-level business. Let’s get that out in the open first!
Our
structure may seem just as complex at first, but after a few minutes,
you’ll see that we
have a simple organization and that we are quite different than most
companies. If you arrived here directly, you may want to explore some
of our "history" before going any further.

Our company was founded in 1982, as a sales incentive and marketing
services agency. Fancy words that mean "we handled projects" for our
clients. Promotions, direct mail, sales incentives, consumer
promotions, travel management etc. Basically, we got things done...what
ever the assignment...we got it done! The business hasn’t changed much in over twenty-three years. We've gotten a lot younger and it just
gets more exciting every day!

Our
clients have included "Anheuser-Busch, Ziff-Davis, Ameritech, Earthgrains Companies, Seattle Fimworks, Bulova Corporation, Van de Kamp’s,
Software of the Month Club, Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers, Domecq Importers" , and quite a few more.
Over the past 20 or so years,
American Marketing has blossomed. Our proudest achievement is
that we have grown enough to recognize and appreciate the freedom of having no
employees, no management or supervisory structure, no expenses, and virtually no
overhead. You
may have to read that again: No
employees (everyone is an equity partner), no management or supervisory
structure (no one looking over anyone's shoulder asking "What did you
do for me today"), no expenses (no executive office, company cars and
expensive address), and virtually no
overhead (this makes all our competition very jealous).

Our current staff of a dozen or so, self-motivated entrepreneurs make up one of the most
unique, independent, entrepreneurial equity networks.....in fact, it’s probably one of the
first in our industry.
Consider the source! American Marketing...where good ideas come from!
Quite
simply, American Marketing shares in an assortment of "assignments"
provided by corporate clients and internal projects. Each project is
designed to generate a
level of revenue or a degree of success that exceeds the project’s
investment, therefore
producing a profit, which is shared by the participating members of the
project team.
Sometimes a client pays a fee for our services and the fee is shared by the team members
participating in the production.
Most project teams do not exceed six people. The average is four team members for each
assignment and some require only two. The secret is..if you bring in the assignment...you are always on the "working team".

The administrative core of American Marketing is managed by "Mike Breheny and Don Calarco" , each an independent, sole proprietor dba: American Marketing.
Breheny and Calarco met in 1990, when Calarco, then president of a public company,
hired Breheny to run his favorite subsidiary, American Marketing. The two former
executives (turned entrepreneurs) bring a wealth of corporate experience to the creative
core of the group.
As
executives, employed by a public corporation, the two men saw
first-hand how much hard earned profits
can be wasted away on needless and frivolous corporate expense or just
mis-management
of funds and spending. Their dream to develop a team of specialists
that would not require
the walls of an office to hold them in came true when Calarco and
Breheny were left out to dry
in a forced downsizing action by their former employer. It was the best
thing that could ever have happened. The rest is history!
Never having been accused of standing still, they were back in business within two days of
their exit from the corporate ties-that-bind. Pledging never to return!

Today, to join American Marketing, you must first be an independent, sole
proprietor of your own business. (this is not brain surgery..ten minutes with an accountant
and you are done). There are no employees in the group. No one calls themselves a
manager. No one punches a time clock or pays an electric bill and of course, no one
receives a paycheck.
Instead, each participating member of American Marketing has an
equity share in the results of their efforts. A true profit share with all the fat shaved off. A
dream come true!

From time to time the team reviews its direction and evaluates its talents. Most recently
we have seen a need for new blood, new talent, new arms and legs and hands to keep the
ball rolling.
The talents that we seek are very specific. If you possess any of these talents and are
interested in becoming part of American Marketing, read on. If not...it was nice
spouting off about our company, perhaps we’ll see you again!

Current Opportunities
Several web sites, currently under construction by American Marketing will require a daily, diligent
effort of Internet activity. All equity partners are expected to have equipment, hardware,
software and a place to work, before answering any of these posts:

Tech-Support Coordinator:
A Technical-Support Coordinator should have at least a year's experience administering
and maintaining servers, websites and homepages and implementing programming
languages and applications, including HTML, CGI, Java, and basic Unix. You should also
be familiar with server software and very important, have the knowledge enough to
maximize the usage of minimal resources. Many of the site assignments have tasks that
require input that can only be attained by the application of genuine, original creativity.
If
you have it, you may be the next partner in the group. Coming to the party with the
equipment to make things happen is a definite plus!
One of our projects may have as few as one and as many as three Technical Support
Coordinators, depending on the volume of projects being managed.
In any other company
this "job" would carry a handsome wage. However, as Calarco and Breheny profess;
"whatever the pittance earned by salary, it would never match what a partner would earn in
the same position, considering a similar successful result of the effort".
So, if it's a job you
are looking for, you have come to the wrong place. There are no "jobs"
at American Marketing. (no employees = no jobs) If you think you have
what it takes, or if you have questions and you would like to become
part of a
profit sharing team of winners, you may e-mail Don Calarco

Marketing Resources Services:
Marketing Resources Services is a fancy name for digging and probing into the Internet,
looking for opportunities that will enhance our site’s performance and our profitability. Most of the
assignments given to our MRS's are very specific and easy to follow, however our best
candidate spends a minimum of 3 hours (free-time) on-line a day right now!
Not just in
Chatrooms, but in site development, Java, newsgroup scanning, e-mail, FTP and just browsing.
Bottom
line, we
are looking for the borderline "geek" here. And we say that word with
extreme reverence. (Don Calarco is most proud to be called a geek)
It was the geek that brought us this far and, afterall, the geeks will
inherit the earth.
Join this exciting team and begin participating in the creative process from day one. The
assignments relate to the sourcing of prospects that fit the interests offered in each
individual site. Knowledge of E-mail extracting software such as Netcontact or Floodgate
(or whatever you find most powerful to use) is required to make it to this team.
Each
team project has a goal they wish to achieve. Net profits generated
from successful
efforts are shared by team members. Specific percentages for each
assignment vary with each project. This one may look like a sleeper to
most candidates, but the
opportunity lies in the pure volume of contacts that you can generate.
If you know of a service
that can save us a month of searching..come on in and make it easy..you know more than
we do..that makes you a partner!
No real "jobs" like these exists in the corporate world. They have too much freedom for anyone
to stand. Make your own time, work at your own pace, earn as much or as little as you
like. Several sites are in need of team members with this important talent.
If
it is a job
you seek, you must seek it elsewhere. If it is security you are looking
for, go away! If you wish to join a team of creative partners
working toward a goal, who are absorbed in the fun of building a
business and who create their own "security"...one of these spots may
be for you!
Site Coordinator Services:
Site Coordination Services is a position that is not taken lightly around here! In the old
days a project coordinator would work the hardest and make the smallest salary. Not here
at American Marketing. We need someone who can "get it done"...and not just one
project...all of them!
We are looking for Godzilla...Sales, marketing, customer service,
project management, production schedules...the works! If you are the kind of person that
can’t stand to be in a book store without organizing the books on the shelves by size...get
your butt in here. Do we have an opportunity for you.
This candidate will join a team at
the center of the creative core of American Marketing.
Taking direction and participating in the planning for each project, this partner will accept
an assignment to take the project from start of plan to the very finish line. Along with that,
she/he will manage the entire project budget, source and approve additional team partners,
manage all production activities, and share in the net profits of the success of each of the
projects under her/his control, as profits are generated.
Sorry Roscoe, there is no paycheck at the end of the week. Not here! Not ever! All the
associates of American Marketing earn a portion of the profits generated from
their successful efforts. We work hard, we play hard and we enjoy every minute of it!
This
is a very full assignment which really requires full time attention.
Not a part-time "job" by any means, this position will be filled by
someone with a burning desire to
achieve success as an independent entrepreneur.
A personal computer with Windows 95,
Microsoft Office, Internet access and an e-mail account is required for consideration.
By teaming with the creative core of American Marketing, this opportunity may
be what you were looking for, but if it’s a job you need, you need to keep looking. No
jobs here! Just people working toward a goal.
If you think you can manage the
menagerie, take a shot! 60% of all profits are controlled by the Project Coordinator.
Here's
some math to think about: You
would need to manage $2,000,000 in site revenue, earning a 30% margin
to control
$360,000 in earnings. In any corporate structure $2,000,000 in sales,
after expenses and
overhead could generate a healthy 10% in net profits or $200,000
.....and most of that would "fall to the bottom of the corporate line",
never going to the working class! The people who actually "did the work" to generate the profit...are part of the "expense" column in corporate accounting.
At American Marketing there are only two columns. How much did we make
and what did it cost...the rest is profit, shared by the working team.
Sales and Marketing Services:
Sales
and Marketing Services are provided by independant, outside, freelance
sales
specialists with the same equity interest in the project as the rest of
the team. Target
markets are determined by the current creative asignments. Someone once
said "salesmen are a dime a dozen". Don't beleive it! There are alot of
people who think they are in "sales". We are not looking for order
takers. We are looking for talented "front-office" selling
professionals, who can get in to see the important decision makers who
provide us
with the assignments that earn our livings.
The warm hand on the doorknob, belongs to one of the most important members of our
team. Without a sale...nothing happens. What can we say! We’ll match and beat any
commission structure that any company can ever offer. Do the math again..we have no
"overhead", no "corporate expenses". We have simple cost of doing business and profit.
Average commission (which we call sales and marketing service fees) can range from
20% to 40% of the net profit.

Take a close look at American Marketing. We are not looking to build a broad sales
team. One or two new faces in the group would be enough to do the trick.
If you value your contacts and you enjoy your freedom, this may be the smartest move
you’ve made all year.
Send us an e-mail Mike Breheny or Don Calarco.
Let’s get together and talk about the possibilities.
