Help us make more money...
This is the type of request that we love to hear. Not so much for
the openness of the statement, but for its honesty.
Making more money for your company can take us in so many directions.
One of the most important prerequisites is trust. You have to trust
us with information about what you have done in the past and where
you want to be in the future.
One area we could explore is your current products and services.
Are we making the best of our sales efforts?
Is there room for more distribution, more customers?
Is there a need to expand the product line? Is our customer base
strong enough to support a new product or service?
Is there a need for a vital change in our marketing strategy?
The Chicago Cubs were already making millions of dollars before we
came on the scene.
We asked about how they make their money. They shared that with us.
We asked about the best and worse case scenarios. They shared even more.
We figured out that their customers come to the games and spend money,
but their fans stay home and love them from afar...and most of their
money was being made at the ticket window.
We designed and created a fan-based marketing program (We called it
the Die-Hard Cubs Fan Club). It was directed at the thousands and
thousands of people who watch them on TV, but never get to come to
a game.
Over 80,000 fans paid a fee to be on the roster within the first few months.
Then, after we developed a database, we promoted to this new "market"
and the rest is history...not only for the Cub's, but for almost every Major League Sports Franchise in the US.
Our success is evident in the fact that today they still host a Cub
Fan Convention, for "card carrying members" of the Die-Hard Cubs Fan
Club.
The ball club has since stopped selling memberships, but at last
count there were over 250,000 card carrying members.
Considering back in 1982, the Atlanta Braves had the largest fan club
in baseball history (1,200 members)just weeks before the Cubs program
hit the street.
You don't have to be a Baseball Club to appreciate the strategy in
our design.
Let us show you how to make more money. It probably won't be a fan
club, but we'll do our best to make sure it's creative, unique to your
business and most of all, effective.
