Sybil Horn, CMP Sybil Horn, CMP

Director of National Accounts

Sybil Horn began her business career in 1987 with AVW, a Freeman Company in New Orleans as Business Center Manager at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside and Towers where she managed a staff of six and was accountable for operation, budgeting and marketing/sales in a setting that offered word processing, graphic design, printing, office and conference room rental. Having developed substantial relationships with a broad array of corporate clients, she was promoted to Corporate Accounts Manager in Houston where she managed direct sales to the Houston corporate market assisting meeting planners and marketing executive with audio visual production for their presentations.

As a Certified Meeting Planner and having successfully establishing herself as a prominent conference and meeting planner, she was recruited in 1990 and became the Special Events Executive for the Greater Houston Partnership in Houston, Texas.  Here she planned and coordinated all phases of the Partnerships four largest events including Houston's largest business-to-business tradeshow, Business Appreciation Gala, Houston 100 and The Houston Marketing and Sales Conference. She supervised fourteen committees involving approximately 100 CEOs and senior executives and was responsible for every phase of production including marketing materials, logistics, sponsorships, catering and audio visual.

Her major corporate move came in 1995 when she was offered a position as Director of Promotions, Events and Projects for Administaff in Houston, Texas; one of the nation’s leading professional employer organizations.  In this unique roll she  was involved in all phases of executive management, sales, client and employee incentive programs, niche marketing and branding efforts, tradeshow initiatives, client referral programs/initiatives, corporate store and all their major events.  Major events included top scale client and national sales conventions, kick-off events for major sales promotions, and multiple golf tournaments including a  Champions PGA tournament, sponsorship management of events, and sponsorship negotiations with PGA golfers and an American race car driver.

Sybil’s  background also includes over twenty years of audio visual production, non-profit management and just plain having a good time anywhere she is.  She loves people and is always ready to join in the action to make whatever project she is working on become the best ever.

At first Sybil was a client of American Marketing and soon became a dear friend.  Mike Breheny and Don Calarco could not help but offer Sybil an opportunity to join their team.  Needless to say, she fit right in to the American Marketing philosophy.  She hits the ground running every day and won’t quit until her clients are satisfied beyond their expectations.

Sybil Joined American Marketing in 2009 and didn’t skip a beat.  Her talents and experience aside, she is a pleasure to work with and just won't stand for second best!

Sybil is the Director of National Accounts and services clients at the corporate level for meetings, events, incentives and all areas of promotion.
